
Nortel
Todd Spraggins is President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
Communications Platforms Trade Association.
Todd is currently a Strategic Architect for Nortel's Carrier Networks
business. He has 15 years of Operations, R&D, Product Management and
Portfolio Strategy experience in the telecommunications industry. Todd was
part of the founding team for Nortel's COTS based platform and has since
been a champion for the COTS ecosystem via participation in CP-TA, PICMG,
SAF and other industry standard bodies. His prior roles at Nortel have been
centered around circuit to packet transformation and the development of
wireless VoIP.
Todd received a Masters of Science in Telecommunications from Southern
Methodist University and a Bachelors of Science and Engineering from Tulane
University with a major in Computer Engineering and a minor in
Mathematics.
Sven FreudenfeldKontron
Sven Freudenfeld is Vice President of the Communications Platforms Trade
Association.
Sven is responsible for North American Business Development for the
Kontron AG line of AdvancedTCA, AdvancedMC, MicroTCA, and Pre-Integrated
Solutions. Sven has more than 15 years of experience with voice, data, and
wireless communications, having worked extensively with Nortel Networks in
systems engineering, Sanmina-SCI in test engineering, and Deutsche Telekom
in network engineering. Sven earned his electrical engineering degree in
Germany, and is Chair of the CP-TA marketing workgroup focusing on the
interoperability of COTS standard building blocks.
Stuart JamiesonStuart Jamieson is Secretary and Treasurer of the Communications
Platforms Trade Association.
Stuart Jamieson is the Director of Industry Relations/Architect with
Emerson Network Power, Embedded Computing. Within this role he
currently represents Emerson on a number of PICMG committees, CP-TA, and the
SCOPE organisation. He brings over 19 years of experience in hardware,
protocols, embedded software, and specification development to these groups.
Within Emerson, he played a key role in the development of the technology
central to Emerson’s bundled networking solutions. Stuart’s positions
within Emerson have included Director of Business Development, and Director
of Advanced Technology and Architect. He previously served as the
Draft Editor for the PICMG MicroTCA Specification and is currently the
author of the introduction section for the new PICMG Ruggedised MicroTCA
specification.
Stuart graduated from the Heriot-Watt University in 1989 with a 1st Class
Honors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and again in 1992
with an IBM-sponsored Master of Philosophy.
Brian WoodContinuous Computing
Brian Wood is a Director of the Communications Platforms Trade Association.
Mr. Wood was named vice president of marketing in June 2006, formerly serving as Continuous Computing's director of marketing since April 2004. He leads all global marketing including public relations, web/online awareness, industry events, partner and product marketing, advertising, and sales tools. Previously Mr. Wood was director of marketing at Sorrento Networks, an optical networking systems vendor. He also held a variety of operational and business development roles at Rhythms, a nationwide DSL service provider, and NextWave Telecom, a nationwide wireless carrier. Mr. Wood has an M.S. degree in engineering management from Stanford University, a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, and served as an F-14 Tomcat Radar Intercept Officer in the U.S. Navy.Diversified Technology
Joe McDevitt is a Director of the Communications Platforms Trade Association.
Joe McDevitt is Diversified Technology Inc.’s Vice President of Technical Development, and his focus is on defining cutting-edge products that utilize new technologies, like ATCA and uTCA. Joe started his career with Diversified Technology in 1995 as a hardware engineer and was a lead engineer on the development of several symmetric multiprocessor NEBS servers that were specifically designed for telecommunications.
Jim LawrenceENEA
Jim Lawrence is a Director of the Communications Platforms Trade Association.
Jim has been a leader in the communications industry for over 25
years. During those years he has pioneered many telecom technologies
and solutions for Motorola, Intel, and OpenClovis. Currently Jim is
serving Enea as Chief Software Standards Officer where he is applying 10
years of standards experience to driving next generation standards based
software platforms. Jim is a member of the Service Availability Forum
where he serves as Member Relations Officer. In addition, Jim is
currently co chair of the Middleware Work Group within the SCOPE-Alliance,
and contributing to the Manageability Task Force within the Communications
Platform Trade Alliance. He has a Masters in Program Management from
George Washington University and a BSEE from University of Maryland.
Marwan KhouryIntel
Marwan is currently Director of Technology and Platform Enabling for the Embedded and Communications Group. In his role, he oversees his team’s involvement in specification, enabling and interoperability of complementary commercial off-the-shelf building blocks that will increase platform revenue, value/retain margin, and promote early adoption of Intel-preferred technologies. Marwan currently serves PICMG as the Intel representative on the Executive Board.
Marwan joined Intel Corporation in 1994. During his13 years, he has held various responsibilities representing Intel in industry initiatives and standards organizations (PCI-E, ASI, DOCSIS, and PICMG). He served Intel in different Technical Marketing, Applications Engineering and Post Silicon Validation positions as a Team Lead and Engineering Manager in the area of IA Silicon and Platform, Multimedia Silicon, Communications and Networking Silicon and Platforms. He holds 5 patents. Marwan has a BSEE from the California Polytechnic State University and an MSEE from San Jose State University.
Anthony AmbroseRadiSys
Anthony Ambrose is a Director of the Communications Platforms Trade Association.
Anthony Ambrose is the Vice President and General Manager of Communications Networks at RadiSys. Anthony joined RadiSys in 2007, where he leads the communications and networking business at Radisys. Anthony is responsible for the Radisys initiative in standard modular platforms, including ATCA, where Radisys has established a leading position in the industry with the Promentum platform. Before joining RadiSys, Anthony was Intel Corporation's General Manager of the Modular Communications Platform Division (MCPD) in the Communications Infrastructure Group (CIG) where he led Intel’s efforts in telecommunications and platform products and the creation of the ATCA initiative.
